Crude Steel Production of Oceania Further Drops in March

According to the latest data published by World Steel Association, the crude steel production of Oceania sharply dropped by 11.0% on March 15 year-on-year. The total output declined from 489,000 tonnes in March that of last year to 435,000 tonnes on March 15.

New Zealand produced 70,000 tonne crude steel, lessen 2.3% when compared with the production of 72,000 tonnes achieved in March last year. In Australia, the total crude steel production during March this year was 365,000 tonnes, down 12.5% compared with the production of 417,000 tonnes of the same month last year.

In February 2015, the total crude steel production in Australia was 402,000 tonnes, up 0.4% compared with the production of 400,000 tonnes that of last year. New Zealand produced 65,000 tonne crude steel, lower 5.4% when compared with the production of 69,000 tonnes achieved in February last year.
